I am dedicated to the principle that the community should benefit from scholars' expertise. When I sat on the Board of Directors for the B.C. Civil Liberties Association, for example, I was responsible for files on the Olympic games and the Office of the Police Complaint Commissioner. Currently, I sit on the Board of Directors of several community organizations, I participate in local community activities, and I am actively engaged with the local and national media.
